Okay, so it's actually one, very small riot, but it amuses me nonetheless. I have decided this year to not bring a dessert to the annual joint Admissions Office-Army ROTC Cookout, I am, instead, bring hamburger buns. The reason for this was the last two years almost no one ate the the dessert I made for the cookout. I signed up for the hamburger buns on Tuesday.
Apparently just this morning one of our Admissions Counselors noticed this, and brought the news back to her office. Cue small but noisy riot of protests and begging (mostly for cheesecake.) I have stuck to my guns and insisted that I am bringing hamburger buns. (I will also bring a cheesecake, but I'm not telling them that until I actually turn up with it. Yeah, I'm a bit of sucker.)
Oh yes, Cats.
But I also love dogs. I just prefer cats because...well, it's hard to say, it's liking asking why I prefer the color green to purple. I love purple, but green just speaks to my soul that little bit more.
An anti-cat person wouldn't get the time of day, and anti-dog person wouldn't either. Either you love animals, or I'm not touching you with a fifty foot pole.
Home sick a second day, although feeling more lively, although no less brain dead, I decided, since trying to reading anything worth reading was out of the question (I'd never retain it or enjoy it,) I would watch TV. After flipping through several chanels, I realized I didn't want my brain becoming any deader, so I put in a dvd of fluff; granted it was my definition of fluff. Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. Which can be described quickly as U.N. color-coded puppets fight Invisible Aliens from Mars -- trust me it's much better than it sounds. Which lead me to this gem-like piece of dialogue between two guards/policemen(?) on security detail for the transport of a...well just read:
"Some job that driver's got, shipping atomic bombs around."
"It's not a bomb, it's a nuclear device for civil use."
"What's the difference? It'll still make a mess of the city if anything went wrong."
"Oh relax, what can go wrong?"*Cue Lead Agent for the Mysterons lurking in a dark doorway*

Islamic art is developed from many sources: Roman, Early Christian, and Byzantine styles were taken over in early Islamic architecture; the architecture and decorative art of pre-Islamic Persia was of paramount significance; Central Asian styles were brought in with various nomadic incursions; and Chinese influences . Islamic art uses many geometical floral or vegetable designs in a repetitive pattern known as arabesque. It is used to symbolize the transcendent, indivisible and infinite nature of Allah.
People that like Islamic art tend to be more traditional people that appreciate keeping patterns that they learned and experienced from their past. It is not to say that they are not innovative personalities, they just do not like to let go of their roots. They like to put new ideas into details and make certain that they will work before sharing them with others. Failure is not something they like to think about because they are more interested in being successful and appreciated for their intelligence. These people can also be or like elaborate things in their life as long as they are tasteful. They tend to prefer geometric patterns and vibrant colors.
Not certain I agree with it, except possibly the bit about geometric patterns and the vibrant colors.
